Rowdy - 12 months old
Once upon a time a little red dog named Abbey went
to Alberta with her yellow friend Luke and their
owners and friends. She had a great time for her first
full season of hunting and her first trip to Alberta.
The first day she arrived she went spotting for good
hunting holes and found a fantastic pot hole in a pea
field that evening. Luke and his two partners weren't
coming til the next day and rather than take a chance
that things would change she convinced her two
shooters to shoot that night.  Well, the wind was
blowing 80-90 Kms so it was a bit interesting
watching the shooters trying to hit the birds.  It was
a small pond but the whitecaps made it hard to see
the birds in the water let alone catch up to them as
the wind blew them down the pond. But she swam
really hard and got 13 beautiful greenheads all by
herself.  Sometimes she had to run around the pond
to get them as they washed close to shore but she
got them.  She really had fun in the waves trying to
catch a cripple that kept diving but she stuck with it
until the greenhead came up once too close.  Sorry,
shooter didn't take pix of that hunt.  He was so
excited about the great shoot he forgot.  That night
the ponds froze!!!  Uh Oh!  Well we went a few days
with small shoots and a few birds and then she had a
couple of  good shoots as the pix shows.  She even
went out on the ice to get one bird.  Kind of scared
the shooter. Had to break ice some days. She
retrieved all the ducks but the geese were too big for
this girl this year. She let Luke get them .  She is now
a "Bird Dog" like her big sister Scout.
